CINCINNATI (AP) -- Bengals starting linebacker Rashad Jeanty broke his left leg on the opening kickoff against the New York Jets.
Jeanty broke the fibula while blocking for Bernard Scott's 56-yard return Saturday, lying on the field for several minutes afterward. He walked off the field with assistance and went for X-rays.
Jeanty became a starter after rookie Rey Maualuga broke his left ankle in the second-to-last game of the regular season. Brandon Johnson moved into his outside linebacker spot after Jeanty's injury.
