The Cincinnati Bengals announced Friday that running back Cedric Benson has been named the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week
Benson ran the ball 27 times for 120 yards in last week's thrilling 17-14 win at Baltimore. He became the first player in 40 games to rush for at least 100 yards against the stingy Ravens defense.
The former University of Texas Longhorn is leading the National Football League in rushing with 487 yards. The Bengals will be facing another tough defense this week when the Houston Texans come to Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday.
FedEx will make a $1,000 donation to the Safe Kids coalitions in Cincinnati to support pedestrian safety improvements. Safe Kids USA is a national non-profit organization that works to prevent accidental injury among children.
