The winter line-up of concerts at Boone County Public Library includes bluegrass, Celtic music, jazz, folk, ragtime and more.
All concerts at the library are free and open to all ages.
Tupelo Honey kicks off the winter line-up at the Scheben Branch, 8899 U.S. 42 in Union, on Friday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m.
Based in Fort Thomas, this band has developed their own sound as musicians in just a few years. The music of Tupelo Honey fuses folk and rock with the occasional Latin influence or touch of soul. They draw inspiration from Patty Griffin, Sheryl Crow and the Indigo girls.
Also in January – the Northern Kentucky University Vocal Jazz Ensemble will perform at the Main Library, 1786 Burlington Pike, on Friday, January 30 at 7 p.m. This auditioned ensemble specializes in the performance of standard and contemporary vocal jazz and solo jazz literature.
Under the direction of Dr. Randy Pennington the ensemble performs frequently in the Cincinnati region including performances at area clubs and theatres, civic organizations and on campus.
