Ghosts, Scandals Tours Set For White Hall

Come out for a fun-filled night at White Hall State Historic Site as guides recount tales of the haunting of the historic mansion and let you in on all the juicy gossip surrounding the family of its famous owner, Cassius Marcellus Clay.

The White Hall Ghosts and Scandals Tours on Friday and Saturday July 17-18, will feature special tours at 8 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., both nights. No rug will be left unturned, and no closet will stay closed as all the dirt and skeletons will be revealed.

Admission of $6 will be charged for adults, $3 for children. Tours are by reservation only. Call the park for details at 859-623-9178.

White Hall State Historic Site was the ancestral home of Cassius Marcellus Clay, a 19th century emancipationist, politician, newspaper publisher, and ambassador to Russia under Abraham Lincoln’s administration. Today the mansion sits on a 13-acre park.

Visitors to White Hall State Historic Site will feel as if they have stepped back in time. White Hall offers interactive tours where visitors can experience the Victorian lifestyle and learn the exciting history of the Clay family as they take a tour guided by docents in historic dress.

White Hall State Historic Site is located in Richmond, Ky., off I-75 exit 95.
