It's hard enough to manage your diet if you have diabetes, but the holidays add another level of difficulty with the food-centered celebrations.
If you would like to learn how to manage your diabetes through the holiday season, the Northern Kentucky Health Department is offering a class titled "Diabetes and the Holidays."
The free class will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 24, at the Mary Ann Mongan branch of the Kenton County Public Library, 502 Scott Blvd., Covington, Ky.
Topics include tips for behavior changes to assist in avoiding the temptations of holiday food, tips for modifying foods to fit into a diabetic diet, and a discussion of the dangers of indulging too much during the holidays and how to prevent it.
The class will be taught by a registered nurse and a registered dietitian from the Health Department.
Registration is not required for the class.
For more information about the class or the Health Department's diabetes control program, call Jan Lazarus at 859.363.2116 or Joan Geohegan at (859) 363-2115 or click here.
