Maybe you have vowed to give your time in the New Year. The Kenton County Public Library has several volunteer opportunities for groups and individuals of all ages. The Library needs people to assist with a wide variety of programs including Reading Buddies, movie nights, holiday parties, children’s programs, genealogy and more. The Library is also in need of computer volunteers and people to help at the Library Foundation’s 5K Run & Walk presented by U.S. Bank in June. You can call (859) 962-4060, ext. 4261, to find out how you can volunteer.
Your New Year’s resolution may be to save money. The library can even help with that. Don’t waste money buying books, renting movies or buying $50 games for your Wii. You can borrow game station games, new release movies, books, music, magazines and much more at the Library.
Save your money on entertainment too by coming to Library concerts, plays (Peter Pan at Erlanger in January), craft programs, computer classes, children’s programs and more.
You can even save money on tutoring programs by trying Puppy Tales and Reading Buddies first. There are fun free programs and materials for everyone at the Library.
All programs are free and you do not have to have a Kenton County Public Library card to attend a program. You do not have to live in Kenton County to receive a free Kenton County Public Library card. All you need is a valid ID with your current address or a recent piece of mail. Children can also receive a free Library card with parent permission.
