BURLINGTON, Ky. – Great artwork is created in Northern Kentucky and this weekend, that art will be on display with the artists themselves available to chat about their pieces.
Boone County’s 7th Annual Artist Showcase is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4, from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Boone County Public Library, at 1786 Burlington Pike, Burlington.
Local and regional artists will display artwork in a wide variety of mediums, from drawings and watercolor paintings to sculpture, woodworking, and ceramics. There will also be exhibits of photography, mixed media and more.
Friday’s opening reception includes refreshments and live music by classical guitarist Aaron Raleigh. Saturday’s show includes a presentation by Woodcarver Dave Monhollen at 2 p.m.
From eagles to landscapes, Dave explains how he takes a rough slab of wood and transforms it into an inspiring image.
The Artist Showcase offers the unique opportunity to talk with professional artists who work in a variety of mediums and styles and ask them questions about their work and the creative process. Many of these artists have their work displayed in national galleries and exhibits and work on commission as well as offer private sales.
The Artist Showcase provides a unique avenue for making connections. While items are not for sale during the event, it’s a great place to meet the artist, learn about what they do, and arrange with the artist to buy a great piece of art once the show comes down.
This event is a partnership between Boone County Public Library and the Boone County Visual Arts Association (BCVAA).
