In this month’s Family-History Workshop, researchers will learn about overcoming obstacles from a panel of genealogical experts.
The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) and Kentucky Genealogical Society (KGS) will host the free workshop, “Overcoming Genealogical Roadblocks” and “Brick Wall Breakthroughs,” on Saturday, July 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
During the second half of the workshop, the panelists, Deborah Lord Campisano, Mary E. Clay, Betty Darnell and Roger Futrell will describe how they overcame some of their most daunting family-history research obstacles.
Presented by KHS and KGS, the free Family-History Workshop series takes place on the second Saturday of each month at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, in downtown Frankfort. Topics range from how to begin documenting your ancestry to specialized resources for experienced genealogists. If requested at the time of registration, an optional light lunch is available at a cost of $6, payable at the door.
To make a reservation, contact the KHS Reference Desk at (502) 564-1792, ext. 4460. Registration for the July workshop is required before noon on Friday, July 10. Learn more about the Family-History Workshop programs and other resources for genealogical research on the KHS Web site,
