Kroger has expanded its recall of pistachio nuts amid concerns over salmonella contamination.
This comes on top of their initial recall earlier this week of Kroger brand Private Selection shelled pistachios.
The Food and Drug Administration is investigating California and New York based processors as the possible source of the contamination.
Packages of the Private Select Sheeled Pistachios now being recalled by Kroger will have printed sell-by dates of:
- December 13, 2009
- December 14, 2009
- Jananuary 14, 2010
- February 10, 2010
- February 11, 2010
- March 23, 2010
Customers who have recently purchased the pistachios should not consume this product and should return it to a store for a full refund or replacement.
