Covington has been listed on the "2009 Best Places to buy an Old House" list created by "This Old House" online.
The list presents 51 great neighborhoods and cities-one in each state- where the historic homes are rivaled only by the community spirit that surrounds them.
Covington has been included in the overall 51 Best Places to Buy an Old House 2009 as well as listed in the following categories: Waterfront, Fixer-Uppers, First-Time Buyers, Small Business Owners, Food Lovers, Urban Suburbanites, The South, Financial Help for Homeowners, and Arts and Antique Lovers.
The article states that Covington is a great place to buy because "Houses here are beautiful, solid, and cheap. The federal and state governments are trying to lure artists and small-business owners by offering substantial tax incentives to those who restore older income-producing properties. Covington is a New Urbanist's dream, with shops, groceries, parks, bike trails, and the City of Cincinnati, all within walking distance."
