Web produced by: Kerry DukeNine homes, a converted church that is now used as an office building and a garden in Covington’s Old Seminary Square neighborhood will be open for the second annual Old Seminary Square Christmas Walk from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Some of Covington's best examples of Victorian architecture – from seven-room Italianate townhouses to sprawling mansions – will be open for the tour, which is being held in the early evening to highlight exterior Christmas decorations in the neighborhood. Members of the Holmes High School Choir will be performing Christmas carols throughout the evening.
Last year’s Christmas Walk drew about 125 people to a fundraiser for one of Covington’s most established neighborhoods.
“We’re hoping that at least twice as many people turn out this year because these homes are magnificent during the holiday season,” Linda Carter, who chairs the event for the neighborhood association, said in a release.
Carter said the holiday stroll through Old Seminary Square will be easy since all of the homes are within one block of the starting point at Robbins and Russell. Tickets along with a number of Christmas decorations may be purchased at the rear of 1018 Russell St. Refreshments will be available in some of the homes.
Tickets are $15 per person.
Parking will be available at John G. Carlisle School in the school's lot located at Banklick and Robbins streets, a half block west of the location where tickets will be for sale.
