EDGEWOOD, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky Junior Fire Marshal Poster Contest had more than 32 kindergarten through 5th-grade students enter, but only one winner was chosen.
The Northern Kentucky Firefighter's Association, who put on the contest, has firemen from each department go out into the schools in their communities to work with the children teaching them safety tips. The contest’s theme was "Stay Fire Smart-Don't Get Burned."
All students who entered received trophies and a cash prize.
The "Best Artwork", received a $250 savings bond, a trophy and will be featured on a Tank Bus. The grand prize winner got $500 savings bond.
The winner was John Komaromy-Hiller, a 4th-grader from St. Pius X.
