The Kenton County Animal Shelter is celebrating the opening of its new addition that more than doubled the size of the facility off
Mary Laidley Drive in Fort Mitchell.
The new and improved shelter, which had its grand opening on Thursday, offers six new programs to the public. A special room is designed for obedience training classes, bathing and grooming pets and a play and introduction area for families and pets to interact with a potentially adopted pet.
Each day the shelter is visited by an average of 70 people.
So far this year, the shelter has taken in 682 dogs and 294 cats.
