The Mary Grubbs Highway Extension will open Monday to travelers after a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating completion of the $4.8 million project.
The two-year project, which began in November 2007, replaces a deficient highway bridge with an underpass and creates access to an industrial park and other streets in Walton.
Deputy State Highway Engineer Chuck Knowles, Chief District Engineer Rob Hans, Boone County Judge-Executive Gary Moore and Walton Mayor Phillip Trzop are scheduled to attend the ceremony along with The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
The cermony will take place 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7 on the
Mary Grubbs Highway Extension under the new railroad bridge in Walton.
