R.C. Hinsdale Elementary and Turkey Foot Middle School welcome the Army 1-320th Field Artillery Regiment stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., returning from their third deployment in Iraq this Friday, Feb. 20, at 10 a.m. at Hinsdale and Turkey Foot from 12:15- 2 p.m.
The students have supported the battery, which was adopted by the City of Lakeside Park, by mailing letters throughout the deployment, mailing holiday cards, raising money to mail new toys and gift certificates to the families at Fort Campbell, selling “We Support Our Troops” pins and bracelets, and much more.
The troop will begin the day at R.C. Hinsdale with lunch at 10 a.m. and then to Turkey Foot at 12:15 p.m. for a ceremony. The colors will be presented by the Success Academy.
