The Boone County Sheriff's Department is investigating a number of reported car break-ins over the holiday weekend.
Eight residents in the Lassing Green subdivision in Union reported their vehicles broken into Saturday night. Similar incidents were also called in from five residents of the Thornwidle neighborhood in Hebron on Monday night.
There were similar, although, scattered reports in Burlington, other parts of Hebron and near Florence.
Most vehicles had been left unlocked with valuables laying in plain view. Wallets, purses, mp-3 players, gps units, CD's, and loose change account for most of the property stolen.
Sheriff Michael A. Helmig reminds people to lock their vehicles and remove all their valuables from sight.
