FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky's Judicial Conduct Commission has suspended a family court judge for 45 days without pay.
The decision on Family Court Judge Tamra Gormley was released Monday following the commission's investigation. Gormley's 14th Judicial Circuit covered Bourbon, Scott and Woodford counties.
A ruling from the commission finds Gormley had violated various judicial canons while presiding over a 2008 Scott County case, and a 2008 Woodford County case. Among its findings, the commission says Gormley misconducted her official duties and failed to meet high standards of conduct.
The commission publicly reprimanded Gormley and said her actions were "not mere legal error" but "obviously and seriously wrong."
