LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A central Kentucky woman has been charged with animal cruelty and dozens of dogs were seized from her mobile home.
Rockcastle County Attorney Billy Reynolds told the Lexington Herald-Leader that as of Tuesday night 38 dogs were seized from a home in Mount Vernon.
Linda Alcorn was being held on four counts of animal cruelty, but Reynolds said he expects to add more counts.
Cheryl Higdon, founder and director of United Rescues of Kentucky, described the case as a "hoarder situation" and said many of the dogs were "severely emaciated."
