MURRAY, Ky. (AP) — Two groups organizing competing petition drives related to alcohol sales in Murray have ended their efforts.
Residents voted in 2000 to allow liquor sales in restaurants. A group called "Keep It Local Murray" was soliciting signatures to also allow packaged alcohol sales.
Another group then sprung up, called "Keep It Out of Murray," that was organizing a drive to reconsider the liquor by the drink restaurant ordinance.
The Paducah Sun reported Saturday that the two groups settled their differences and both sides have dropped their efforts to get signatures.
