Leonard Herald, 72, of Newport died Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth Healthcare.

He worked in maintenance for 34 years with the Covington Board of Education.

Survivors include his wife, Helen May Herald; daughter, April Herald of Newport; stepdaughters, Barbara Wooten of Florence, Vickie Truett-Billings of Covington, Sherry Snowden of Newport and Elizabeth "Gibby" Cole of Covington; stepson, Joseph Neace of Highland Heights; sisters, America Strong and Martha Turner, both of Newport; one grandchild; and numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Monday, Nov. 2 at Cooper Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate.
