Nellie Ruth Keys Egan

Nellie Ruth Keys Egan, 81, of Bromley and formerly of Walton died Thursday, Oct. 29, at Cardinal Hill Specialty Hospital, Fort Thomas.

She was a payroll clerk for Baxter Inc. She received her manicurist certificate at age 65 and was a professional manicurist into her late 70s. She was a member of Erlanger Church of Christ where she founded the church’s NTO (Never Too Old Club); a member of the Grandmothers Club of Northern Kentucky; a member of Walton Christian Church where she sang in the choir, president of Walton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Mrs. Claus at Christmas season for the Walton Fire Department.

Her husband, Edward F. Egan, died in 1974. A daughter, Alyce L. Reed, died in 2007. Her son, David E. Egan, died in 2001.

Survivors include her daughters, Nellie E. Briggs and Susan E. Egan, both of Ludlow; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Monday, Nov. 2 at Erlanger Church of Christ. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright.

Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Walton is handling arrangements.
