With Wall Street's sharp ups and downs, investors are taking their money out of the  market, and searching for a safer alternative. The answer may lie in real estate.

But they also bring caution to this market.

"There is a lot of talk about everyone moving into real estate," said Loretta Peto, a certified public accountant. "But, you have to evaluate each investment to make sure it's the proper one."

The value of homes has been appreciating in recent years across the country, making the investment switch to real estate more lucrative. Some commercial investors are even switching to residential to diversify their portfolios.

Buyer beware: will that piece of real eastate give a good return in the future?

There is a chance that much like the high-tech bubble, the real estate bubble could pop, leaving investors with overinflated properties.
