Storm damage to power lines, trees still remains from last September's windstorm.
It's been five months since a wind storm blew threw the Tri-State uprooting trees and power lines, but some Mt. Washington Residents say Duke Energy never completed all the repairs which has left a section of a street in the dark.

Robert Weaver said he realizes Duke Energy had a big mess to clean up and repair, but he thought his street lights would have been up by now.

"The lights weren't replaced on two of the poles and the third light doesn't work, so it leaves a long stretch from Beechmont down to Aberdeen where there is no street lights," Weaver said.

Weaver said he tried calling Duke Energy to find out if the lights were going to be replaced in the 1900 block of Mears Avenue.

"I called Duke in late November. They said they would send someone out and I hadn't heard anything by the end of December. I checked back with them and they have a record of my call, but no record of anything being done," Weaver said.

Another neighbor was concerned about a black wire hanging from a utility pole. She says she was told it belonged to Time Warner Cable.

"The school's just down the street. It's about a block down the street. There's a lot of foot traffic and the kids could play with it, horsing around could get caught with it. Could be injured. That's what my concern was," Charlene Rundo said.

9News put a call into Duke Energy and Time Warner Cable.

Both companies said they would investigate and within two hours the black cable dangling from the pole was gone.

The hole had been filled in and the street lights were hung.

Weaver said he doesn't understand why Duke Energy didn't respond when he called, but he's glad the repairs have been made to the street lights and the hole in the ground.
