NEWPORT, Ky. – Ahoy there! If ye be seeking an underwater haunt that you and your land-lubber family won’t soon forget this Halloween season, you’re in luck. The seventh annual Ghosts of Pirate Cove at Newport Aquarium runs from Oct. 24 through Nov. 1.
The Aquarium’s Ghosts of Pirate Cove tells the tale of a crew of pirates lost at sea. With a ship full of loot and tempestuous seas, the pirates are forced to make a decision: should they toss out their precious cargo, or spend the rest of eternity on the ocean floor with their prized treasures?
Bring ye lads and lasses to Newport Aquarium this Halloween season to see how the story ends and to experience all the underwater fun that the Ghosts of Pirate Cove has to offer. Meet Cap’n Dubloon, the pirate’s commanding leader, and watch the scurvy pirates compete for Dubloon’s mighty treasure during an underwater sword fight. Or check out the Aquarium’s dive team as they carve pumpkins to create spectacular jack-o-lanterns… underwater.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, kids can help Cap’n Dubloon find his crew by collecting animals on their map at crayon rubbings stations throughout the aquarium.
On Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., parents will love the opportunity to have free digital fingerprinting – courtesy of truTV - taken of their children, to keep on file for safety. And don’t miss the return of the Radio Disney Road Crew Spooktacular Halloween Bash on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 2-4 p.m. Dance, play and have fun.
Then, on Saturday, Oct. 31, celebrate the release of the film "Planet 51" with games and prizes in the Theater from 2-4 p.m.
Shiver me timbers – there’s also a great deal! Four kids (ages of 2-12 years old) get in for just $5 each with every adult paying full price when they wear their Halloween costume to the event.
Experience the most unique family-friendly event in the region this Halloween season at Newport Aquarium.
