WASHINGTON (AP) -- A day after facing large crowds on the National Mall, visitors to the nation's capital are finding themselves in similar situations at the nearest airport.
Travelers at Reagan National Airport were waiting in long lines to check-in and at security gates Wednesday morning.
Alexander Hernandez of Portage, Ind., spent the night at the airport. The 22-year-old says he and others slept on top of heating vents and chairs. When he woke up at 7 a.m., there were lines snaking through the terminal.
Some travelers complained about how slowly the lines were moving. Others said that after braving the cold weather on Mall the day before, they were happy to be waiting indoors.
