Her attorney Keith Gambrel said that it took him by surprise when he found out Monday morning that his client Cheryl McCafferty had been moved already to the state prison.
McCafferty, the 44-year-old Fort Thomas mother of two, who was convicted last week for the shooting death of her husband Bob, was moved to the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women in Pewee Valley, Ky.
She was sentenced to 18 years in prison, for the 2007 shooting of her husband in their master bed, and is eligible for parole after serving 20 percent of that time plus her time already served. She may be eligible for parole in 2011.
