The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) notified the Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) Wednesday that a sample from an infant in Barren River Health District has tested negative for H1N1 swine flu.

Specimens from Kentucky's three remaining probable cases—in Fayette County, Montgomery County and Hardin County—are still pending at CDC. The state has two confirmed cases, involving residents of Daviess and Warren counties.

No new cases are being reported Wednesday.
