As the country deals with the H1N1 virus, many places across the Tri-State are offering flu vaccinations.

People began arriving before 10 a.m. Friday for the Cincinnati Health Department's H1N1 flu vaccination in Millvale. Health officials did not start giving the doses, either nasal mist or injection, until 1 p.m.

Elizabeth Pyles from Hyde Park came to get she and her son vaccinated. "I just can't see taking the risk of having him getting an infection."

Adrienne Reuhl of Milford wanted it for professional and personal reasons. "I'm an RN, so it's pretty important that I get it cause I'm at high risk. I'm here to protect my child."

By the time the clinic opened there were close to 300 people in a line that looped around the building and through the parking lot.

Staci Wagner with the Cincinnati Health Department has been at all the vaccination clinics this week. Her plan was to give doses to pregnant women who registered first. Wagner said there were about 240 injections and 160 nasal mist immunizations available.

After expectant mothers were served, the health department delivered the rest of the tier one patients: those with chronic health problems, people who are in contact children under six months of age and children over six months old, and health care workers.

The CHD announced late Friday, that now only those in the tier one group who register for a clinic will receive injections because there is a shortage of it. Everyone else will get the nasal mist.
