Upcoming Tri-State H1N1 Vaccination Clinics

Last Update: 11/18 11:33 am
Below you will find a list of upcoming H1N1 Vaccine Clinics from around the Tri-State area.  Keep checking back. The list will be updated when additional events are announced.
CINCINNATI

The Cincinnati Health Department is offering several walk-in H1N1 vaccination clinics for high priority (Tier One) groups. The City of Cincinnati Primary Care Centers will accept walk-ins as designated below. Due to high demand and low vaccine supply long waits should be expected.

An appointment-only vaccine clinic especially for pregnant women will be held on Tuesday November 10 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at 3101 Burnet Ave.

To register for this session, pregnant women should call (513) 357-7499 and press option “five” where they will be asked to leave their name and phone number.

The Health Department urges your patience and is working to expedite the process as more vaccine becomes available:

Tier 1 Group Include: pregnant women, people with chronic conditions, healthcare workers, children age 6 months to 24 years, and people who care for children less than 6 months old.

Due to limited supply these groups are being offered vaccine first. As soon as adequate vaccine supplies are achieved the Cincinnati Health Department will be offering times when any member of the general public may come to receive H1N1 vaccine.

Pregnant women should call prior and make an appointment at 513-352-3192.

Health officials in Springdale answered questions about the H1N1 vaccination Monday night at Forest Dale Church of Christ. Officials said one of the biggest misconceptions right now is about the safety of the vaccine. They say it's similar to the season flu shot and expect very few problems from people who have received it already.

"I think that the vaccine is going to be very effective in preventing H1N1," Cammie Mitrione of the Springdale Health Commission said, "so I think it's going to be a good vacccine. People need to relax a bit, but everybody has to make the decision for themselves."

Springdale is waiting for more vaccine to arrive. It could be as early as Tuesday.

CLERMONT COUNTY

Appointments available for a Saturday, Nov. 21 vaccination clinic scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at the General Health District Nursing Division at 2400 Clermont Center Drive, Suite 200, in Batavia.  This clinic is for children ages five and younger.  Due to the limited supply of the injectable vaccine, if there is not a prohibiting health condition, children aged two to five years are encouraged to take the  flu mist instead.  Call 513-735-8400 to make an appointment.

The Health District is continuing to receive the H1N1 vaccine and expects to receive more in the coming weeks. School clinics have already started and the Health District expects to have completed the first vaccination clinic at each school district by Thanksgiving. Children under 10 years of age will require 2 doses, four weeks apart. The second round of school based clinics for children requiring two vaccinations are tentatively scheduled to begin the week of December 7. Seniors 65 and older are not in the initial CDC priority group for vaccination. Seniors will be able to get vaccine once it becomes more readily available.
