Warren Co. Prepares For H1N1 Nasal Mist Clinic

Last Update: 10/23 7:49 pm

WARREN COUNTY, Ohio -- The overwhelming response to Butler County's H1N1 vaccine clinic has Warren County health officials bracing for a crowd at their clinic which runs Saturday morning.

The Warren County health department has 1,500 doses of the nasal mist to administer at its clinic from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

The health commissioner says it's important that before anyone shows up they check out the county Web site to be sure they fit the criteria for this clinic. Injections will not be given at this clinic, only the nasal mist.

It's for children, people who care for an infant under 6-months-old and medical workers. It is not for pregnant women or people who have chronic illnesses.

"So there is no sense for them even to come out to the fairgrounds just to be told you can't get it there," says Duane Stansbury, the County Health Commissioner. "So, we want them to save the time and trouble and frustration of being told no," he said.

Stansbury says deputies will be at the fairgrounds to direct traffic. Medical workers will be monitoring the number of people closely so they can cut off the line when they reach the maximum they can treat.
