Bishop Brossart is in its third season with a football program, and the Mustangs have yet to win a game.
When Bishop Brossart lost to Owen County, 18-6 to open last season, it looked like the Mustangs were close to breaking through in the win column, but it was the closest they would come to a victory all season.
Bishop Brossart begins district play this season in Class 1A, and has five different non-district opponents. The Mustangs’ first three games – vs. Betsy Layne, Bracken County and Jenkins – are against teams that were a combined 5-27 in 2008.
This should be the year Bishop Brossart gets its first win, but it may be another year or two before the Mustangs are competitive in a tough district that features Beechwood and Bellevue.
