Collinsworth Rushes For 148 By Halftime As Highlands Drills Dixie

  Senior Austin Collinsworth had 21 carries for 148 yards and three touchdowns – all in the first half – as Highlands pounded Dixie Heights in a Class 5A opener, 52-9 on Friday.

 Junior Jordan Streeter added eight carries for 99 yards and one TD as the Bluebirds rolled up 306 rushing yards.

 Sophomore quarterback Patrick Towles, making his first varsity start, completed 11 of 19 passes for 178 yards and three touchdowns. In his final nine passes, he threw eight completions for 138 yards.

 Highlands’ regular starting quarterback, senior Will Bardo, was injured in last week’s win vs. Cincinnati St. Xavier and did not play.

 After being held without a reception last week, Highlands senior Nick Buten caught five passes for 81 yards and a touchdown, and senior John Drennan had three receptions for 68 yards and a TD.

 Highlands finished with 484 total yards. Dixie Heights rushed for 195 yards and passed for 199.

 Colonels senior quarterback Ryan Wilson had 20 carries for 123 and one touchdown, and he completed 19 of 35 passes for 167 yards. He also kicked Dixie Heights’ 42-yard field goal to account for all nine Colonels points.
