A Dylan McGuire keeper completed Lloyd’s 21-point comeback.
The senior quarterback snuck in a two-point conversion over halfway through the fourth quarter as Lloyd edged Cooper, 36-35 on Friday.
Senior running back Seth Chappie had scored on a one-yard run to make it 35-34 Cooper, and when the Jaguars jumped off-side on the ensuing extra point, Juggernauts coach Roy Lucas decided to go for two.
During Lloyd’s rally from a three-touchdown deficit that began late in the third quarter, the Juggernauts took advantage of a Cooper fumble and stopped the Jaguars on fourth down twice.
McGuire was 17-for-25 for 213 yards and a touchdown, and he had 10 carries for 63 yards, a TD and a two-point conversion.
Chappie finished with a team-high 70 ground yards and three touchdowns.
McGuire’s main passing targets were senior Charles Johnson (five catches, 92 yards), senior Trevor Gregory (7-67) and junior tight end John Danks (3-35), who caught a touchdown pass to make it 35-28 early in the fourth quarter.COOPER 7-21-7-0—35
