NKU Adds Iowa Transfer To Roster

Last Update: 6/29/2009 3:37 pm
Northern Kentucky University men's basketball coach Dave Bezold has added University of Iowa transfer David Palmer to the Norse's 2009-10 roster.

Palmer, a 6-foot-9, 250 pd forward and center, played two seasons for Iowa and averaged 4.1 points per game in 2008-09. A native of Antioch, Tenn., Palmer poured in a career high 21 points against Wisconsin last season.

"David is a big, strong player who is going to help us immediately," Bezold said. "His ability to score inside and run the floor will fit in nicely in our motion offense. David also brings a great deal of experience, and that's going to be a big key for this season."

Palmer joins freshman guard Ethan Faulkner and freshman forward Erik Stenger as newcomers to the NKU roster. NKU posted a 24-7 record this past season and won the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament championship. The Norse, who captured the GLVC East Division title for the third straight year, also advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
