Sophomore quarterback Nolan Daugherty rushed for a touchdown and passed for another as Walton-Verona won its season finale, 13-12 on Saturday.

Junior running back Ronnie Nadicksbernd led the Bearcats with 70 rushing yards, and junior Adam Baumgartner added 51 ground yards.

Walton-Verona took the lead with just under four minutes remaining on a two-yard run by Daugherty that made it 13-6, but junior Cameron Adamski returned the ensuing kickoff 85 yards for a score.

Trimble County could not kick the game-tying extra point, however. Walton-Verona eventually punted the ball back to Trimble County, but the Raiders could not get across midfield.

Walton-Verona, which won its first and last game, finished 2-8 in its first season under coach Jeff Barth and its inaugural year in Class A.
