Q: What struck you about that the home, that you knew you had to have it?
A: A favorite of my husband’s from child hood
Q: What are you most proud of that you have done w/your home?
A: Restoration and preservation
Q: What is the abbreviated history of your home?
A: Originally built for Mrs. Elizabeth Shaw, wife of Samuel Shaw
Q: What do you hope that tourists will appreciate about your home?
A: Original features which have been preserved, i.e. unusual curved and arched stained glass window, woodwork, pocket doors, four working fireplaces
Q: Why is it important for historic homes to be preserved?
A: To have a sense of our history and the craftsmanship required
Q: Why/how did you choose Ft. Thomas to be your home?
A: My husband grew up in Ft. Thomas and we both loved old houses.
Q: Have you done any major renovations to your home?
A: Added driveway and walkways around house. New HVAC, electrical, period storm windows, slate roof restoration, plaster restoration in all rooms, woodwork restoration, fireplace restorations
