CINCINNATI (AP) -- After a season full of injuries, the Cincinnati Reds have to decide what to do next.
Injuries wiped out their starting rotation and their starting lineup as the 2009 season went along. Nineteen players spent time on the disabled list, including four-fifths of the rotation and every regular position player except second baseman Brandon Phillips, who played with a broken thumb.
The Reds ended up with their ninth straight losing season. Now, they have to decide how much of the team to keep together. Four players -- starters Aaron Harang and Bronson Arroyo, closer Francisco Cordero and third baseman Scott Rolen -- are due to make about two-thirds of the payroll next year, an unworkable situation.
At least one of them is likely to be traded.
