WALTON, Ky. -- On Saturday, the Northern Kentucky Health Department is holding its second mass H1N1 vaccine clinic. 8,000 doses will be available starting at 10 a.m. Saturday morning at Walton Verona High school.
You have the choice of either the nasal mist or the injectable version of the vaccine. But the health department is aiming to serve high risk groups during this clinic:
- People 6 months through 24 years old
- Caregivers of children under 6 months old
- All pregnant women
- Health care workers
- People ages 25 through 64 with chronic health conditions that could lead to complications from the flu
Saturday's vaccine clinic runs from 10 a.m until 4 p.m. at Walton Verona High school on 30 School Road. If you can't make that one, you can attend the next clinic on Saturday, November 21 at Summit View Middle. Another 18,500 doses were distributed to doctors offices across Northern Kentucky for patients in high risk groups.
Meanwhile, Kentucky health officials say the supplies of the seasonal flu are drying up. They say most of them have already been given out. Health officials say demand increased this year for the seasonal vaccine and the shots were gone about as soon as they became available.
