Anthony Munoz Foundation Teams Up To Tie It On

Last Update: 11/21/2009 1:04 am
CINCINNATI -- The Anthony Munoz Foundation has teamed up with a national store to keep kids on their feet.

The "Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids" program gave 20 children from Taft Elementary School shoes of their choice Friday.

The kids spent the morning with Bengals NFL Hall of Famer Anthony Munoz and were treated with limousine transportation and lunch.

“We got lunch first at Chick-Fil-A restaurant at the Kenwood Mall. Then I came here to get these shoes,” said Raynie Hiatt, a second-grader at Taft Elementary. “It's cool and I like it!"

“I had a lot of positive role models and I want to give back the way they gave to me and allowed me to be successful,” said Munoz.

The rest of the student body at Taft Elementary will get free shoe vouchers in December.

Payless Shoes expects to give away more than one million dollars in shoes nationwide this holiday season.
