CINCINNATI -- Several residents of Cincinnati's Empowerment Zones are picking up their paint brushes to enhance 130 of the city's vacant buildings.
They are painting designs on doors and windows as part of Keep Cincinnati Beautiful's "Future Blooms" project.
The city hopes the artwork will help reduce crime and mitigate declining property values.
Funding for the project comes from the Cincinnati Empowerment Corporation.
