CINCINNATI -- Even with the victory over UConn, UC was bumped back a spot to number five in the AP Top 25 poll and also remains at fifth in the BCS Standings.
In what was supposed to be a jump in the polls after a UC victory and Northwestern's upset win over number four Iowa, has instead turned into UC moving backwards. TCU moved up two spots to overtake the Bearcats as the number four team in the national polls following a convincing victory over UNLV 41-0.
The Bearcats narrow 47-45 win over the University of Connecticut Huskies wasn't enough in the eyes of the AP and the BCS committee to give them the fourth spot.
Florida remains number 1 in the AP Top 25, with Texas at number 2 and Alabama at 3. Florida is also on top of the BCS Standings, but Alabama takes the second spot with Texas following in third.
The Bearcats (9-0, 5-0) will try again to improve their rankings when they host the #25 West Virginia Mountaineers (7-2, 3-1) on Friday, November 13 at Nippert Stadium.
