A football weekend around Cincinnati is truly a three day affair. The Bengals on Sunday, the Bearcats on Saturday, but it's the players that start their careers on Friday night that make the weekend possible.
Greater Cincinnati is one of the hotbeds of high school football every year and it has been said for a long time that UC wouldn't be good in football until it got the local players.
UC now has 52 players from Ohio and 28 players from the greater Cincinnati area, led by former Reading quarterback Tony Pike.
Derek Wolfe out of Youngstown, Andre Revels from Colerain, J.K. Shaffer from LaSalle, and Drew Frey of Clinton Massie just to name a few others.
Add in four players from Kentucky and you see a trend of local success.
Brian Kelly said it would happen, and he delivered.
