SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Baseball fans are buzzing about what caused a nearly hour-long delay in a recent San Diego baseball game.
A swarm of bees completely took over part of left field in the ninth inning as the Padres were playing the Astros.
Apparently, the queen bee landed inside a ball girl's jacket, prompting all of the other bees to gather around.
The field manager had to call in a beekeeper to come and spray the swarming insects. He estimated there were a few thousand bees gathered.
When play finally resumed 52 minutes later, the Astros took the win.
