Cincinnati Bengals fans did their part to help feed the hungry by donating items during this past week's game.
The team announced Tuesday that fans donated 9,234 pounds of non-perishable canned goods before the team took on the Baltimore Ravens. That amount is 1,604 pounds more than last year.
Fans also donated $11,061 in cash donations, a $3,041 increase over 2008.
The Freestore/Foodbank will be able to provide thousands of meals for disadvantaged people in the community because of the success of this year’s Bengals Canned Food Drive.
