Bengals Help Brighten The Holidays For Local Kids

Last Update: 12/16/2009 12:45 am

This holiday season will be a little brighter for some local children, thanks to three Bengals.

Michael Johnson, Johnathan Joseph and Jordan Palmer took 30 kids who are in the care of Lighthouse Youth Services shopping at the Meijer store in Oakley.

The annual Lighthouse Happy Holidays project provides gifts for more than 2,000 children and young adults in crisis.

And for some, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity says Happy Holidays Project Coordinator Andrea Granieri.

"It's a really good time. [The kids] love getting the autographs and the pictures,” says Granieri.

“It's an opportunity they're never in their life gonna get, and you know what? There's still some of them that, they've been thinking about it for weeks, and they're running to the aisles and getting some games and other things, too,” she said.

The Happy Holidays project is co-sponsored by Meijer and WCPO.
