The Cincinnati Bengals have parted ways with a player who spent his entire career in the orange and black.

The team announced Wednesday that they have terminated the contract of Levi Jones, releasing the offensive tackle to free agency.

Jones was drafted by the Bengals in the first round of the 2002 draft.

The former Arizona State Sun Devil started 89 games for the Bengals in eight seasons.

He was an integral part of the Bengals 2005 AFC North championship.

Jones was regarded as one of the top left tackles in the NFL that season and was selected to the Pro Bowl as a second alternate.

He started 10 games for Cincinnati last season before missing the final six contests due to a leg injury.

Jones had asked the Bengals for a trade and with the team selecting Andre Smith with their first pick in the 2009 draft, his departure seemed inevitable.
