PETERSBURG, Ky. -- The body that was found on the side of eastbound I-275 Wednesday morning has been identified.
Police have identified the deceased as 29-year-old Brian Jones of Cincinnati.
Police say Jones died of a single gunshot to the head.
Boone County Sheriff's Department and Cincinnati police are working together in the investigation of Jones' death to backtrack his final activities.
Jones was found by a driver coming to the aid of a broken down driver on the side of the highway around 7:40 a.m. Jones was wearing only shorts and socks.
