The Milton-Madison Bridge is scheduled to close for repairs this Saturday causing motorists to take an alternate route to cross the Ohio River.
The bridge, which carries US 421 across the Ohio River from Milton, Ky., to Madison, Ind., will be closed from 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 25 until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 27.
The bridge also will be closed from 7 p.m. on August 1 until 5 a.m. on August 3. A third weekend of work may be needed in there is bad weather or other unforseen delays.
The closure will allow for repairs to the steel in the superstructure.
During construction, motorists can a bridge 46 miles downstream in Louisville or 26 miles upstream near Vevay, Indiana to cross the Ohio River.
