Bengals receiver Chad Johnson broke his months long silence with local media Wednesday night.
Whether it is true or not, no one in a position of authority would say but Johnson said he was only talking because he was forced to. That he was going to be fined $20,000 each by the NFL and the team.
He joked with reporters after the last night practice of training camp, that he'd sought professional counseling to remedy the issues he had with the team and among others Carson Palmer.
But he turned serious when the subject turned to a visit he had with perennial All-Pro linebacker Ray Lewis.
Chad said Lewis helped him come to the realization that he is blessed to be in the position he's in. That there are millions of people who want to play the game. And that he's very fortunate to be living out that dream. "And I'm sitting here fussing about something that I really can't control."
It would be helpful if he follows through on his pledged truce with the media. But not nearly as beneficial as if he abides by Lewis' words of wisdom.
