The annual Nativity dedication is taking place today in Cheviot with extra security measures in place.

The Baby Jesus statue has been stolen in past years, but eventually returned.

The security measures will hopefully keep thieves away from the manger.

Today's dedication will include the Western Hills Amvets Post 41 Color Guard.

Cheviot Police Officer, Joe Lally, will sing the National Anthem.

Mayor Samuel Keller will address the crowd as children from Cheviot Elementary school prepare to sing Christmas carols.

The program begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight at 3916 Harrison Avenue.

It's the 46th year for the event.
